The story
About VanTested
VanTested exists because van gear marketing is a claims arms race, and the search results that are supposed to referee it are full of reviewers who never plugged the thing in. We buy gear the way you do, at retail, and we put it on a bench with a watt-hour logger, a clamp meter, and a decibel meter before it ever earns a recommendation.
We publish the scores, the charts, and the failures, including the products that died at month seven and the warranty claims that went nowhere. We run affiliate links and we say exactly which ones pay us, on every article. We don't sell gear, we don't take money for scores, and when a product we recommend starts failing, the review changes.
Your van is your house. You deserve numbers, not adjectives.
Who runs this
VanTested is run by Conor Gotzens, a digital marketer and builder, and the second site in the same family as MeowTested, where the same rules apply to cat gear: test it for real, publish what fails.
Photo, van details, and the full build log for the test van are coming as the lab spins up. Everything published here will be attributable to a named human you can find and argue with.
The test van
The van is real and it is the long-term test mule: gear that survives the bench goes into it and accumulates months-in-service on every review. Full details and the build log are being written up now.
The rules we operate under
- Test units bought at retail; samples disclosed per review, with no pre-publication rights for anyone.
- Every measurement traces to an archived raw data file.
- Failures are published, with warranty outcomes, on the Fail Wall.
- Per-article disclosure of which links pay us. See the affiliate disclosure.
- No store, no house brand, no sponsored scores.
